Beef and Echflags Soup: Two Meat Bowls #video

While we stay at home and try to visit the store as little as possible, one must also be resourceful in the kitchen. Let’s say you are preparing two different delicious dishes from one piece of meat.

Beef soup and “ishflags”

For soup:

  • 30 dag beef
  • beef bone
  • Vegetable soup (carrots, parsley, fennel, a little broccoli, celery, onions, leeks)
  • 3−3.5 liters of water
  • 1.5 teaspoon salt, or to taste

We cook beef stew. If we want a good meat, we will pour hot water over the meat, but if we want a good soup, we will pour cold water on the meat.

suggestion for improvement

Karolina Črešnar cooks soup by letting water boil and then adding salt and vegetables. “If we add an old piece of chicken to the soup, the soup will be tastier, but we can also add chicken breast bone that we like to use for steaks, and the bone usually stays with us,” she added. Soup would be better this way. The meat from this bone is also very tasty.”

Since we often have beef left over, we can make a wonderful salad from it, called “Eishflags”.

For “esihflajš”:

  • cooked beef
  • salt pepper
  • chopped onion
  • pumpkin seed oil
  • apple cider vinegar

We cut the meat into cubes of any size, add onion slices, salt and pepper to taste, you can also finely chop the garlic, pumpkin oil and vinegar and mix.
