Recipes for 5 dishes we love to order in a Chinese restaurant

Food is a very important element of Chinese culture, it is prepared with love and respect, so they enjoy it. Chinese food contains elements from the many peoples and cultures that inhabit the area, and they have in common that they use a lot of spices, among which is soy sauce, and as a side dish, steamed rice is often found on dishes. They eat a lot of soup and noodles, it can be rice or wheat flour, meat, tofu and other soy products and vegetables, and for dessert they prefer fresh seasonal fruits, which makes Chinese food one of the healthiest and most nutritious in the world.

  • 4 sheets of rolled dough
  • 1 carrot
  • 100gm of soybean sprouts
  • 150 grams of cabbage
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 2 tablespoons of oil
  • little sugar
  • salt pepper
  • 1 egg

Carrots are washed, peeled and cut into thin strips, as well as cabbage. Heat the oil in a frying pan and fry the carrots until they soften a little, add the cabbage and sprouts and fry for another 2 minutes, then add the oyster sauce and spices and fry until the water evaporates. Set aside and cool. Lay two sheets of dough on top of each other and cut them into squares about ten centimeters long. Put a spoonful of the filling in the middle of each. Beat the egg and cover the outer edges of the dough. Fold the bottom edge over the filling, then do the same with the left and right edges, wrapping them together at the end. Heat the oil in a deep frying pan and fry the casings in it to get a beautiful golden brown color.

kung pao chicken

Enough for 4 people.

  • 1 kilo chicken breast
  • 1 red pepper
  • 60 gm peanuts
  • A bunch of small onions
  • 1 dl soy sauce
  • 3 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons of sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 3 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 10 dried chili peppers
  • 6 garlic cloves
  • A piece of ginger the size of a thumb

We cut the chicken into small cubes, clean the pepper and cut it into strips, peel and ginger, finely chop the ginger, chop the small onion and hot pepper and remove the potatoes. In a bowl, mix half of the soy sauce, vinegar, and sugar. In another bowl, mix the rest of the soy sauce and starch and pour the mixture over the chicken. Heat the oil in a frying pan, add the chicken and fry for five minutes. Remove it from the pan and add a little oil and sweet pepper. When it softens a little, add the green onions, peanuts, ginger, garlic and cayenne pepper. Stir and fry for a few minutes, then add the soy sauce mixture, vinegar and sugar, stir, add the chicken, and cook for another five minutes to thicken the sauce.

sour sour soup

Enough for 4 people.

  • 1 liter of chicken broth
  • 0.5 kg of chicken breast or tofu
  • 200 gm shiitake mushrooms
  • 100 grams of bamboo tops
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • A piece of ginger the size of a thumb
  • 2 teaspoons soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon of hot pepper
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 3 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch 2 eggs

We cut the bamboo into thin slices, peel and chop the garlic, cut the chicken or tofu into centimeter pieces, the same mushrooms, peel the ginger and cut it into thin strips, mix the eggs. Pour the soup base into the saucepan and add the mushrooms, ginger, bamboo, garlic, soy sauce and hot pepper. Leave to boil, then reduce the temperature. Drizzle the chicken with sesame oil and mix the vinegar and starch in another bowl. Add the chicken to the soup and cook for about half an hour, then slowly pour in the egg, stirring constantly. Add vinegar with starch, stir and cook for another five minutes.

Mongolian Beef

Enough for 4 people.

  • 500gm beef side dish
  • 4 small onions
  • A piece of ginger the size of a thumb
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 30 grams corn starch
  • 80 ml of water
  • 80 ml soy sauce
  • 60 gm brown sugar

Cut the meat into centimeter thick slices, peel and chop the garlic and ginger, remove the white parts of the onion and cut the vegetables into five-centimeter slices. Mix the meat well with the starch in a bowl and let it rest. Heat the oil in a frying pan, add the meat and quickly fry, 1 minute on each side. Remove from the pan and add garlic and ginger. Stir, add soy sauce, water, sugar and bring to a boil. Return the meat to the skillet and cook for another minute or so to thicken the sauce, finally add the green onions, stir, and wait until wilted and served.

fried banana

Enough for 4 people.

  • 4 larger ripe bananas
  • 60 grams flour
  • 60 gm corn starch
  • 1 deciliter of water
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 6 grams butter
  • sugar spoon
  • oil

Peel a banana and cut it in half, melt the butter. Mix the flour, starch, water, milk, butter and sugar into a smooth dough. Pour the oil, the height of which should be a few centimeters, into the pan and heat it. Dip the banana in the mixture and fry until a beautiful golden yellow color. Place on paper towels to absorb excess fat and serve.
